Is there any other option than exercise to reduce the weight?

Question- I am a 60 years old man, 5’9 tall and weigh 88 kg. I want to lose weight but I cannot walk easily due to a problem in my right knee. I am planning to undergo knee replacement surgery after eight months. How can I lose my weight? Are there any exercises except walking to reduce weight?

  • Answer-For losing weight when you have odds stacked against you, you need only two main ingredients that will take you a long way: creativity and high motivational will power! Of course there are other ways to lose weight, even at your age. The difference will not be that visible but you will begin to feel better and will definitely have some health benefits. If you can access a swimming pool, and swim regularly, that is one way. If you cannot, then perhaps a good daily dose of yoga can also help. This will make you supple and also have great health benefits. Naturally you will have to manage your intake of food so that the calories are nutritious but not more than what you burn in your daily routine and what your body requires.
