Now, insurers can design products to include these items,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d an industry analyst and researcher said.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Infertility_Medical_Insurance\"><\/span>Infertility Medical Insurance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The insurance regulator may soon provide more clarity by issuing a separate order making it binding on companies to include these procedures in their plans, according to a source. Insurance penetration in India remains low.<\/p>\n<p>Merely 43 crore individuals, or 34% of the population, were covered under any health insurance in the year 2016-17, according to the National Health Profile 2018, compiled by the Central Bureau of Health Intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the spread of private coverage, growth in health insurance is mainly driven by government-funded schemes or social insurance. Private sector coverage is largely limited to urban households.
