This valley fever does not spread from one person to\nanother person so you do not have to stay at home for that reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who gets Valley fever?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People who\nlive in the southwestern United States or travels to the southwestern United\nStates, or parts of Mexico or South America can get this type of fever. This\ntype of fever can affect any age of people, but mostly in adults who are\n65years and older. People who live in these areas can try to avoid spending\ntime in dusty places. People who are at risk for severe this Valley fever may\nbe able to lower their chances of developing the infection by trying to avoid\nbreathing in the fungal spores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are\nsome common-sense methods which can be helpful to avoid getting from this\nValley fever. It is important to know these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Try to avoid dust area like construction\nsites. If you can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t avoid these areas, wear a face mask when you go on those\nareas.<\/li><li>Stay inside during dust storms and keep all\nthe windows shut.<\/li><li>Try to avoid that activity which involves\nclose contact to dust and also avoid gardening.<\/li><li>Use air filtration inside your home.<\/li><li>Clean skin injuries well with water and soap\nto prevent the chances of developing a skin infection, especially if the wound\nwas exposed to dust.<\/li><li>Take preventive antifungal medication if your\nhealthcare provider says you need it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Treatment\"><\/span><strong>Treatment<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Valley fever\ndoes not need any type of medical treatment. For people who are otherwise\nhealthy, bed rest and drinking more of fluids. Your doctor will watch how you\nare doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your\nsymptoms hang on or get worse day by day, then your doctor might advise you a\ndrug which attacks illnesses caused by fungus. There are many options,\ndepending on how severe your symptoms are.
