This backwash (acid reflux)
will irritate your esophageal lining.

Here are natural GERD home remedy solutions:

Baking Soda: A tablespoon of baking soda (a base substance) neutralizes the
stomach acid and you do not experience the burning feeling even though it comes
up. Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with eight ounces of water, and drink.
Repeat as required but within one day don’t exceed seven doses. Owing to its
high salt content and other side effects including swelling or nausea stop
using this GERD home remedy for more than a week.

Elevate the head of your bed: If you experience heartburn
frequently when trying to sleep, put blocks of wood or cement underneath your
bed so that the head end is elevated by 6 to 9 inches. If you can’t elevate
your bed, you can insert a wedge between your mattress and box spring to
elevate your body from the waist up. Raising your head with additional pillows
isn’t effective.

Drink Aloe Vera Juice: Drink two ounces of aloe vera juice
unprocessed daily. Aloe vera can provide safe and effective medication to
alleviate GERD symptoms, including heartburn, food regurgitation, flatulence,
belching, dysphagia, diarrhea, vomiting, and regurgitation of the acid.

Chew Gum: People with GERD can get some relief by chewing sugar-free gum
30 minutes after eating. Chewing a piece of gum activates the salivary glands,
allowing saliva to increase. The saliva helps in washing away any acid. Chew
after eating one slice, and note the difference.

Quit smoking. Heartburn is one of them in case you needed another excuse to
stop smoking. And for those with GERD, this is a big one. Smoking affects the
lower esophageal sphincter (LES) which is responsible for preventing backing up
of stomach acids. As smoking weakens the LES muscles you can experience more
frequent heartburn episodes of heartburn. It is time we started smoking. It’ll
make you feel better.

Ginger Tea: Ginger tea is best for many stomach problems, from the normal
stomachache to nausea to chronic acid reflux. For full flavour, for 30 minutes
simmer ginger root slices in water. Drink the tea before a meal for maximum
benefit, to maximize the impact of this GERD home remedy.

Avoid foods and drinks that trigger reflux: Fatty or
fried food, tomato sauce, alcohol, chocolate, basil, garlic, onion and caffeine
are common triggers.

Avoid tight-fitting clothing: Tightly fitted clothes around
your waist placed pressure on your abdomen and the lower esophageal sphincter.

Mustard: Mustard is mineral-filled and contains vinegar, a low acid. This
also includes alkaline, which neutralizes GERD-related acid that comes up.
Start taking 1 teaspoon of straight mustard when you’re getting about of
heartburn, or if you’re having symptoms already.

Eat food slowly and chew thoroughly: After you
have chewed and swallowed every bite, put down your fork after every bite and
pick it up again.

Bananas: Bananas are a bland, low-acid fruit which is often considered
gentle on the digestive system by people. Banana vitamins help avoid
gastrointestinal spasms but it’s not clear whether they will affect acid
reflux.

Overview Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when acid from the stomach sometimes flows back into the tube that connects the mouth and stomach.
