Prostate Specific Antigen test is performed on a sample of blood to measure level of Total PSA and Free PSA: Total PSA Ratio in blood.It is performed to detect Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Prostatic Carcinoma

The normal result for PSA for Total PSA is < 2 ng/ml for Male gender and for < 40 years. Free PSA: Total PSA Ratio is When the Total PSA is 4-10 ng/ml, a ratio of < 0.10 indicates a 49-65% risk of prostate cancer for Male gender and for All age groups.
