Cholesterol Total test is performed on a sample of blood to measure the level of Total Cholesterol in blood. It is performed to confirm Cardiovascular Disease and Disordered Lipid Metabolism and also during treatment and after treatment of Cardiovascular Disease and Disordered Lipid Metabolism. Also known as Serum Cholesterol, Sr. Cholesterol, Cholesterol Total.

Your doctor will give specific instructions depending on your condition on how to prepare for Cholesterol Test. You need to be fasting for at least 10 to 12 hours before this test.
Cholesterol Test is done using the Enzymatic colorimetric method on a Blood sample.
The normal result for Cholesterol Test for Total Cholesterol is < 200 mg/dl for Unisex gender and for All age groups.
